Homes for Community Living is a state contracted, non-profit organization, established in 1977 by a group of concerned parents who wanted a better living environment for their sons and daughters.
HFCL accomplishes its mission by serving clients in what are referred to as “Supported Living” homes which are located throughout Clark County. HFCL staff provide 24 hour care, instructing and supporting clients on an individual basis with their daily living skills.
Most of our clients reside in affordable housing units that were constructed to meet their specific housing needs. As such their individual rent amount does not exceed 30% of their monthly income.
In the past, many adults with development disabilities were confined to state institutions. Organizations such as Homes for Community Living help these adults become contributing, working members of their neigborhoods and the community.
Homes for Community Living provides instruction and support staff who assist the clients with their daily living needs, such as cooking, cleaning, doing laundry and managing their finances. Clients are encouraged to make personal, independent choices whenever possible. Agency staff also assist the clients in accessing and participating in educational and recreational opportunities in the community.
